The beginning of a cycle called "Transitional Movements in the Yoga of Intention Series". Read the description carefully, watch and study the video, and only then start practicing.
We offer you two series of figures, compiled according to the algorithms of Andrey Sidersky's system. The level of complexity of the figures is basic, that is, accessible to everyone, even those who are just starting their acquaintance with yoga gymnastics. If you still find that some figures are not available to you in full, you can simplify them, that is, perform them the way your body allows you. In future videos, we will gradually increase the level of difficulty and supplement the series with other options for transitional movements. But, despite the low level of complexity, we recommend experienced practitioners and teachers not to neglect these series, gradually master the dynamic component on simple exercises in order to transfer the acquired skills to more complex forms in the future.
We call the training mode in which a series of figures and canonical sequences of the "Yoga of Intention" system are performed - a flow. Under the flow is meant the integrity, coherence and equivalence of all practical actions. In each series of figures, static and dynamic components can be distinguished. Static is the fixation of figures, dynamic is transitional movements.
The main connecting thread is the breath. All practical actions are synchronized with breathing, without exception. The duration of fixation of each figure is determined by the number of breath cycles. To combine the transitions with breathing, they need to be divided into parts. There is a rule: the last part of the transitional movement always coincides with the exhalation. When the exhalation ends, the transition ends and the fixation phase begins. According to this rule, the number of transition parts is always an even number. The simplest transition is divided into two parts and is performed during 1 breath cycle. If the transitional movement follows a longer trajectory and requires additional control, then we add 1 more breath cycle, dividing the transition into 4 parts. The most difficult transitions can be completed within 3 breath cycles and consist of 6 parts. More than three breaths per transition should not be allocated in order to avoid an excess of the dynamic component.
Part of the transitions consists of the movements of leaving the asana that we have fixed, the change in the initial position of the body in space, and the shaping movements with which we build the next asana. It is best to divide the transition paths into approximately equal parts. Then the general rhythm of movements is created and the uniformity of breathing is maintained. There are exceptions when we need to highlight meaningful short movements. Then such movements need to be performed more slowly. The stretches that deepen the asana do not stand out as part of the transitions. In contrast, short movements at the periphery of the body (head, feet, or upper limbs) may be separate parts of the transitions.
We call the general motor pattern of series and canonical sequences "form".
All forms of series and sequences are mastered in three stages. In these videos, we present the first stage, which is called "learning the form." Tasks of the first stage:
- learn how to correctly rebuild the figures.
- learn to maintain uniformity of breathing in transitions
- learn to combine figures with slow, fragmented movements into one coherent stream
Transitional movements in the video consist mainly of 6 and 4 parts. The exceptions are short transitions, which are divided into two parts. Movement speed is slow. We move in such a way that we have time to be aware of movements at all points of their trajectories.
Each series is performed in two versions of transitions. The first option is the easiest. The second option is more complicated. Even though the figures in each series are the same, the transitional movements are completely different. This way you can work on different aspects in the same figures. We recommend that you first fully master the first version of each of the two series and only then move on to the second.
Two versions of the transitions of each series were filmed in two versions. In the first version, the description of the movements is missing. There are only breathing commands "inhale-exhale". This is a kind of summary. This version is needed so that when you watch the video, you remember how the transitions are separated, where the inhalation and exhalation ends. In the second version, in addition to breathing commands, there are short concise descriptions of movements. You can use it to practice on video in sync with the teacher. We recommend that you not only practice from the video, but also periodically review the first version in order to remember the order of the figures and the transitional movements in all their details as quickly as possible. Then you will have the opportunity to perform the complexes on your own, fully paying attention to the technique of movements, rhythm and continuity of the flow. Choose the duration of breathing and the speed of movements that corresponds to your current state.
The duration of fixation of each figure of the series is 1 respiratory cycle. The execution time and overall training load will be minimal. Therefore, these series can be performed daily, as short workouts, at any time of the day. But remember that you should have one or two days without practice per week so that your body rests and has time to recover. In the event that you have enough time and energy for a longer workout, you can perform two sets in a row, separating them with breathing and meditative pauses.
